Andy Richards joins Celtic Pharma

One of the few successful investor–entrepreneurs with a good track record to come out of the UK, Dr. Andy Richards, will join Celtic Pharma Holding’s second Celtic Pharma fund’s advisory board. In 1992, he co-founded Chiroscience, one of Europe’s most successful biotech companies, and was its business development director through to the merger in 1999 with Celltech (now UCB). He is also founder of Arakis Ltd, which was acquired by Sosei in 2005, and Cambridge BioTechnology Ltd, acquired by Biovitrum in 2005. Click here.

European business angels cry out for help
EBAN, the European Business Angel Network, which represents 90 angel groups across Europe, is asking public policy makers for some help, including capacity building, help with filling the so called ‘equity gap’, cost of monitoring and collecting deal data, and subsidising the running of angel networks. So what should policy makers do to make sure that great innovations find access to finance at their early stages?
